Club Jerseys for 2008
We have a large inventory of club shirts left over from
2007 and 2006. In 2007, we did not get the number of members we thought we would
get so this contributed to the surplus. In 2006, some members did not come out and
pick up their jerseys, which also contributed to the surplus. In light of the above,
the club will not be ordering any new jerseys for the 2008 season. Instead,
we will work off the inventory we currently have. In 2009, we will order shirts
again with a new colour scheme. However, even though there are no new jerseys this year,
you will still receive a quality shirt from previous years and the membership fee will remain the same. We will use the revenue to subsidize club
events such as trips and parties where we have bands and supply food.

Tuesday and Thursday Roll Schedule 2008
Yes, we will again be rolling two nights during the week
this year, which will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Sunnyside and Cherry Beach trails are back from previous years
and the East Don Parkland and Humber River Valley trails have been retained for variety. However, the ratio
has been changed from 2:1 to 3:1 as discussed below.
Now, skaters living in the west part of Toronto have two trails, namely Sunnyside and Humber River Valley
while skaters living in the east side of Toronto also have two trails, namely Cherry Beach and East Don Parkland. However,
for every three rolls at Sunnyside and Cherry Beach, there will be only one roll at
East Don Parkland and Humber River Valley, which is a 3:1 ratio.
Sunday Roll Schedule 2008
This season the organizers want our members to skate on the best-of-the-best in terms of trails,
so we will be venturing further out this year. The Welland-to-Thorold Trail, which is one of the three
legs of the Welland Canals trail system, as well as the Friendship Trail between Fort Erie and Port Colborne
have been kept for the 2008 season. Both of these trails are new with excellent surface conditions, except
for part of the leg from Ridgeway to Fort Erie, which is showing some premature buckling and cracking. Aaaargh!
Our Sunday rotation will consist of five trails. The first four
rolls will always occur in the order of West Humber Park, Hamilton Beach, Port Credit, and
Whitby-Oshawa. The fifth roll will be one of either the Friendship Trail or Welland-to-Thorold Trail. The schedule
has been juggled slightly to avoid some of the July, August, and September long weekend traffic fiascos we
ran into last summer. This summer we will skate locally on long weekends.
It is customary for us to ease into the season during June
and increase our distances in July, August, and September. Since some of the shorter
trails have been dropped from the schedule, to compensate during our warmup period in June,
we will roll only one leg of the West Humber, Hamilton Beach, Port Credit, and Whitby-Oshawa
trails throuhgout June. In July, August, and September we will skate two or more legs of each trail.
Weekend Trips in 2008
The Ottawa trip is back and is scheduled for the weekend of July 4th to the 6th. In addition, the
Blading & Blues weekend in Port Credit is back and set for the weekend of September 5th to the 7th, as well as the
Blading & Casino trip to Niagara Falls, which is set for the weekend of September 12th to the 14th.
The trip to Chicago has been cancelled for this year.
However, the trip to Montreal is a definite go. The dates
are August 7th to the 10th.
Special Events for 2008
In May, we will hold our first special event
of the season, which will be held on Saturday, May 10th starting at 5:00 PM at Ernie's place at 99 Denlow Boulevard in Toronto.
This is also our club opening party. You will be able to sign-up for the club, trips, and lessons.
Thursday, June 26th will be Pool Night at the Crooked Cue after a roll at the Humber River
Valley Trail at Etienne Brule Park. The festivities will kick-off at around 8:30 PM.
In July, a Pub Night at Keating Channel is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th after the roll at Cherry Beach
and there will be a summer party at Ernie's house on Saturday, July 26th. This event will start at 5:00 PM and will feature
a live, rock and roll band.
During August, there will be another Pub Night on Tuesday, August 12th at Keating Channnel after a roll at
Cherry Beach. Both of the above events will start at 9:00 PM
In September, the Blading and Blues weekend will take place on September
6th and 7th in Port Credit. There will be two days of skating from 11:00 AM to
2:00 PM each day, followed by the festival on the street, in the park, and at the pubs.

Membership Fee for 2007
The membership fee for this year is $40.00 per person for those
who sign-up on or before May 11th. For those who sign-up after May 11th the
membership fee is $50.00.
No, Jim and Ernie are not
trying to get rich off the club. The reason for the increase is to cover the cost of
jerseys. Club jerseys provide a united look and a feeling of being in a
real club. In addition, the uniforms help promote
the club at sign-ups, rolls, and events throughout the season.

Tuesday and Thursday Roll Schedule 2007
Yes, we are going to be rolling two nights during the week
this year, which will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, instead of our customary Wednesday night.
The Taylor Creek Park trail has been dropped from our weekday schedule due to poor
surface conditions. The East Don Parkland and Humber River Valley trails have been added.
The Sunnyside and Cherry Beach trails are back from previous years.
Now, skaters living in the west part of Toronto have two trails, namely Sunnyside and Humber River Valley

Sunday Roll Schedule 2007
The Taylor Creek Park, Toronto Islands, and Niagara-on-the-Lake
trails have been dropped from the 2007 Sunday schedule due to poor surface conditions.
This season the organizers want our members to skate on the best-of-the-best in terms of trails,

Blading & Blues weekend in Port Credit is back and set for the weekend of September 7-9.
Two new trips have been added this year. A trip

you need to sign-up now. There are only a few spots left. We will be skating on the waterfront,
staying at the University of Chicago in downtown Chicago, and attending the legendary
Chicago Blues Festival, which is perhaps the best Blues festival on the planet.
The second trip will be to Niagara Falls on September 15th and 16th.
We will stay near the falls, take in the casinos, and skate two days on trails that
are yet to be determined.
