Sunday July 6th
Trail: Hamilton Beach to Stoney Creek
Departure Time: Car pool at the Islington subway parking lot at 12:30 PM
Roll Time: 1:30 PM
Directions by Car:
- Take Queen Elizabeth Way west to Burlington.
- Follow QEW Niagara at the 403/407 junction.
- Continue approximately 2 km to Eastport Dr., which is just before the Skyway.
- Follow Eastport Dr., under the Skyway, to the lift bridge.
- Cross the lift bridge.
- A very short distance after crossing the bridge there is parking on your left.
- Meet at the end of the parking lot, closest to the lift bridge.
Roll:
We'll roll along the beach to Stoney Creek and back. The trail is approximately
18 kilometres round trip so we'll roll two legs for a combined distance of 36
kilometres. This is a wide trail with a flat, smooth surface and low traffic volume,
which makes it excellent for striding and gliding practice, interval training, and sprinting.

Sunday July 13th
Trail: Port Credit to Oakville
Roll Time: 1:30 PM
Directions by Car:
- Exit the Queen Elizabeth Way west at Hurontario Street.
- Follow Hurontario south to Lakeshore Blvd. in Port Credit.
- Continue south at the light a short distance until you reach Port Street.
- Turn right on Port Street.
- Head west until you reach the end of Port Street.
- Turn left into the Municipal Parking lot behind the Snug Harbour restaurant.
Directions by Public Transit:
- Take the Go train from Union Station.
- West to Port Credit.
- Walk south to the light at Lakeshore Boulevard.
- Then walk further south a short distance to Port Street.
- Walk west until you reach the end of Port Street.
- Turn left into the Municipal Parking lot behind the Snug Harbour restaurant.
Roll: We'll roll west from Port Credit, through Clarkson, to the border of Oakville and back.
Afterwards: Port Credit has several good restaurants. Some bars have bands
as well. Let's meet at the Harp on Lakeshore Boulevard for dinner and music.
Sunday July 20th
Trail: Whitby to Oshawa
Departure Time: Car pool at the York Mills subway station at 12:30 PM
Roll Time: 1:30 PM
Directions by Car:
Note: Do not exit Brock Rd. in Pickering.
- Take the 401 east to Whitby.
- Take the Brock St. exit in Whitby.
- Drive south to the Rotary Sunrise Lake Park.
- Meet in the parking lot in Rotary Sunrise Lake Park, which is close to the
harbour.
- You will see the small light house at the tip of the pier and gazebo close
to the beach.
Roll: We'll roll east from Whitby along the waterfront to Lakeview Park
in Oshawa then north along the Oshawa Creek into the city. The combined distance of both legs is 30+ Kilometres.
Afterwards: We'll meet at Kelseys in Whitby! From the park drive north on Brock
St. until you reach the 401. On the north side of the overpass, take the first
exit on your right.
Sunday July 27th
Trail: Friendship Trail - Ridgeway to Fort Erie
Departure Time: Car pool at the Islington subway parking lot at 11:30 AM
Roll Time: 1:30 PM
Directions by Car:
- Take QEW to Niagara Falls.
- Continue on QEW towards Fort Erie.
- Exit QEW at Sodom Road South.
- Follow Sodom Road to Dominion Road, which is just after you enter the town of Ridgeway.
- Turn left on Dominion Road to Ridge Road.
- Turn right on Ridge Road.
- Continue 2 ½ blocks on Ridge Road.
- Parking is on the left, beside the trail.
Note: Sodom Road changes names to Stevensville Road and then
to Gorham Road before you get to Dominion Road.
Roll: We'll roll along the Lake Erie shoreline to Fort Erie and back
for a round trip distance of 18 kilometres. We will skate only one leg this time out.
Afterwards: We'll meet at the Italian restaurant in Ridgeway, which is a block or two from
the parking lot where the trail starts.
